Double Suicide? Elderly Couple Disappears from Cruise Ship
January 18, 2009 – 11:15 amAn elderly couple disappeared from a cruise ship, their door locked from the inside with a “do not disturbed” tag hanging from the door. Authorities are trying to determine, is this a suicide, or something else? Some persons are maintaining the couple had simply left the ship at a port. Others are considering a suicide-homicide.
Many research studies, including the June 14 issue of The Archives of Internal Medicine, indicate that elderly persons are at a higher suicide risk than other age groups.
Suicide currently ranks the 11th leading cause of death.
